Since our inception back in 2007, WA has found great success competing in eSports events around the World.  With support coming from Anthrax eSports, Joicaster and Microsoft, WA was able to host its 1st Annual WA Streamathon at the Florida Mall Microsoft Store in Orlando.

Justin 'MiyagiHan' Ovation watching the excitement with Joshua Sachs of Joicaster and Jeremy 'Fiercekyo' Rojas In the 8 hour event, WA and Joicaster partnered to stream games spanning from Ultra Street Fighter 4, DiveKick, Killer Instinct, Hearthstone and League of Legends across several YouTube and Twitch Channels in a process Joicaster calls “multistreaming.” WA Director of eSports, Justin “MiyagiHan” Ovation was thrilled with the collaboration.  “We are extremely happy to partner with Joicaster for this fun and ground-breaking event.  I’m pretty sure this is Joicaster’s 1st video game event, and we’re happy to introduce them to one of the largest markets in streaming.”

WA Gamers across several eSports genres – one coming from as far as Virginia (Moraitis) – joined forces in order to put on a great show. The event also served as the unveiling of WA’s new Team Jerseys provided by Anthrax eSports.  “The jerseys were designed flawlessly by our friends over at Anthrax! It was the 1st time I’ve seen them, and I think they’ll definitely send the team morale through the roof, and that’s the 1st step to driving success” Ovation would go on to say.

One of the more entertaining segments of the event was the “Beat the Pro,” segment in which WA invited any on-looking gaming enthusiasts to take on one of our WA Gamers at their most proficient game for prizes.  Team WA showing their thanks to Anthrax eSports Although, our WA Gamers went an outstanding 11-0 on the day across the Beat the Pro segment and other various online matches, participants still walked away with great Microsoft, Gamestop and Razer gear.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping put on an amazing event! As to be expected with a 1st time event, there were a few hiccups with production and other compatibility delays, however, we bound together to ensure the event’s success.  Regardless, this was an excellent start to hosting a great event in the years to come!
